“We
used the SVSi StreamView LR camera to capture high speed color video of
figure skaters at a Figure Skating National Pairs Camp. The camera was
incredibly easy to
set up and use at the ice rink. It gave a sharp color image
without any extra lighting operating at 200fps. We had the
camera connecting to a laptop that we put on the boards facing the rink
and had the camera set to stream to the hard drive. Almost as
soon as the skaters were done with their skill, the video was in the
viewer software ready for the skaters to watch with their coach right
at rink side. We were actually able to leave the viewer
window open in the software, even while capturing, so there was no need
to switch back and forth from viewing mode to capture mode.
The best feature was that there was no down time from one capture to
the next; once the video was done streaming, typically just a few
seconds, we were ready to capture again. This meant the
skaters did not have to wait between skills and we could keep the
session moving. The weight of the battery in the hand grip
gave the camera great balance and the simple window box view finder
worked remarkably well. The video image was stable and rarely
missed a shot. For ease of use and a great image, the SVSi
StreamView LR camera excelled for capturing high speed video shot after
